Frequently Asked Questions

(sorted by frequency)

What is G-WAN?

G-WAN is a small-footprint (100 KB) Web server with full ANSI-C scripts run in real-time (no compiler needed). G-WAN C scripts are as fast as static pages.

Why bother to create another platform?

Other Web Application servers don't perform well -even on high-end hardware. I liked the simplicity of C -and it has more than decently fit the task.

Why is G-WAN safer than others?

Thousands of times less code also means less bugs. ANSI C does not suffer from recurring implementation security holes. And crash-proof dynamic buffers are as safe (and faster) than garbage collection.

Are G-WAN-based programs as fast as G-WAN?

As all the 'infrastructure' code (client/server, RPC, security, etc.) is done by G-WAN, your applications directly benefit from its performances.

Who will benefit from using G-WAN?

Start-ups' shortest path to realization and Incumbants' best way to save, Students' most efficient playground and End-users' safest protection, G-WAN helps you to shine -even when the sun doesn't.

How much does it cost?

G-WAN is free for all. G-WAN's advanced features will either be paid or free -depending on users' willingness to contribute to the success of other users.

Will Mac OS/X, BSD, Solaris, etc. be supported?

G-WAN's small footprint and modularity make it easy to port on any platform. The Linux and Windows versions were made available in less than one year.
